Amityville Public Library

Phenomenal library, and it even carries my book Sentence. This place brought me great joy as a child and it’s a delight to see it continue to do so!

11/11/25 Closed Veterans Day. Google says open. 😒 Been to this library many times. It is being renovated- it needs it. Compared to other Nassauand Suffolk libraries, this isn't pretty or modern or as well partitioned as others. I come mostly to read /study on my own work and computer. Needs way more places for plugging computers and phones. Need more private spaces. Wifi a shoddy. Personnel have been helpful and it does the job. It's clean.

Great for students we needs more of these in this town

I was here from 2 pm- 3 pm and there was about 5 young unsupervised miscreant children running around the library out of control for a while. And the security there did nothing to enforce the rules of the library. They need to get rid of the security that is there who are lazy. And get real security that have the respect and decency to live up to there job requirements that don't have a problem enforcing the everyday rules of the library. Otherwise like many other places this library is going to wind up shutting there doors due to the uncontrollable unsupervised children. One of the rules is children cannot be left unsupervised. Children can not run around creating mischief or creating a dangerous situation to where they are disturbing or putting at risk other patrons that are visiting t
