Alewel's Country Meats

We’ve been shopping here for a little over a year now and we love all that we’ve tried from the store. The brats are amazing and there are so many options to try (10/10 recommend the skillet scrambler, jalapeño cheddar, ghost pepper). We really like the venison and beef jerkies as well (try the ghost pepper beef jerky), and the pickled quail eggs are a staple in our house! You should check it out just for the variety of meat products they have. You won’t regret it.

Leaving this review for anyone who doesn't know there are fresh lunch options available. My husband said this was "the best BBQ sandwich he ever had," and we have eaten our way through most of Kansas City so this is no light praise. The combo of mouthwatering meats, coleslaw, and sauces had us both just sitting in the car speechless making happy grunting sounds until it had disappeared. As you can tell, we were so into the sandwich that I forgot to get a decent pic until it was too late. Anyway, this is the Friday special which is currently a pork BBQ with slaw - but every lunch offering we've had here has been A+. Grab some bottled sauces or frozen goodies on your way out. Worth every penny, every time.

The staff is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Lots of product to choose from. We got Canadian Bacon, smoked pork chops and apple bratwurst. All very good. I do wish they carried a lower sodium item or two. I recommend this business!

I really like this place! They have an amazing selection of meats and cheeses. They even have a grill/butcher box, which you can mix and match different flavors. This trip I went in there for some bacon. They had a nice selection and it was on sale. It wasn't super fatty either. It was delicious. They also carried incurred bacon for those that are looking for no nitrates in there meat. The staff was happy to show me around and explained what they offer. They were super friendly and helpful. We live in New Jersey but ordered our Christmas smoked ham from Alewel via goldbelly.com and wow - never again am I buying a supermarket ham for special meals. This was the best looking and tasting ham of my life. Thank you!
