The food was delicious and the service was terrific. We ordered the chicken katsu, tonkatsu, sushi, and their homemade banana pecan cheesecake for dessert. I’ve been to Japan a few times, and outside of spots in Convoy, CA, this place is right up there in terms of authenticity and service. Highly recommend!

We went there for Sunday dinner. Server was really friendly, food didn’t take more than 15 minutes. Was parking available. Food is really good no complaints. The owner needs to change the menu book because they are really in bad condition but that doesn’t change the food test at all, it’s just a recommendation. If we ever visit in Escondido will definitely stop by.

I always leave happy and highly recommend it to anyone looking for wonderful Japanese food and sushi! Every dish is made with such care and quality, and you can really taste the difference. The rolls are always delicious, beautifully presented, and made with consistently fresh ingredients. The staff is kind, welcoming, and attentive, which makes every visit feel comfortable and enjoyable. The atmosphere is clean, relaxing, and honestly makes me feel like I’m back in Japan. I also really appreciate that they offer some great vegetarian options, so everyone can find something they love. It’s the only sushi rest

Akita Japanese Restaurant has the best shrimp gyoza! They also have crispy fresh and cold draft Sapporo 🍻The hostess and sushi chefs are very welcoming. Best taste and price in City of Escondido.

I hadn't been here in about 17 years. We enjoyed the sushi, especially the lobster roll. Cute vibe on the inside but I wasn't a huge fan of the lighting. I know that's an odd thing to single out but it was dim LED and it was hard for me to see menu. Just felt cold. Waitress was great. Food came fast. Booth was very comfortable. Prices good.
