Wow, went in with expectations of it being decent. The buffet was smaller than I thought and I could not tell if the food was fresh. Well I made a plate for me and my daughter and we both were wow'd! It was soo delicious! We had the BBQ jerk chicken, Red fish stew, fufu and fried curry fish. It was soo good we had to go back and get more fried fish before we left town. I am pregnant and now this place is going to be a new craving. I went yesterday and want it again today! We live 40mins away but I will be back biweekly to get my fix. The spice levels were perfect and the flavors were addictive. I wish I knew about this place sooner!
My friend and I drove from Lynchburg (2 1/2 hours) and it was worth every minute. We got the chicken egusi and fufu and they were fresh and so flavorful! The staff is so friendly and helpful as it was our first time trying African cuisine. Definitely a must try spot when you're in town!
I had the fufu and the fish egusi for the first time, and it was so good. It was so flavorful, smokey, and rich. There was also a super nice lady who handed off my food to me. I don't know her name, but she was so sweet. I'll be coming back when I get the craving again.
When I mean to tell you it felt like home here and don't get me started in the food. 10/10. I've been looking for some real African food and I tried this place today. I bought the seafood gumbo which came with fufu. when I received the bag I was skeptical because how small it was but trust it was enough. customer service was amazing and tbh I might go back for seconds in the next hour.
Review was based on a recent experience. Egusi soup is now being sold in a smaller container still priced at the previous price point.I ordered Goat and let's just say it was substituted for something else (w/o) my knowledge...I use to love dinning her unfortunately this has changed.
