African Soulfood

This was our first time visiting African Soulfood. Courteous staff, great ambiance, and minimum wait time. The plates shown below were the senegalese yassa chicken with rice and the mbuzi wet fry goat with plantains. I wanted my goat extra spicy. Believe me, the spices along with that delicious gravy 😋 will clear your pores. A great 👍 dining experience. We will be back.

I had an amazing meal here. The meat was perfectly tender and flavorful, sautéed with onions and spices that tasted fresh and authentic. The greens were rich and well-seasoned, and the rice balanced everything out beautifully. You can tell the food is cooked with care and real home-style technique, not shortcuts. Warm service, generous portions, and one of those places you immediately plan to come back to. I felt very much like home. I had the mbuzi (goat) dry fry! Outstanding, everytime. The drink was also so refreshing and delicious.

Our first time trying African food. Customer service was great with Faithful. Food was served hot. Atmosphere was inviting. Enjoyed the suya, beef samosa, egusi and fufu. My husband loved the goat and lamb with cheb. Worth the hour drive. Our kids also tried and like it.

Honestly i love their food, this is the only time i was disappointed in the okra soup. It’s my go to food. The entire soup was not edible. The okra was stringy, like stems. Like literally it was the entire container. It was impossible to eat. So i had my fufu and suya since i ordered that as well. I didnt call because i ordered through grubhub and new it was to late to order again. It happens and i will still see you next time.

Had a great time at this restaurant! The food was delicious and the service was great, our server, Rae, was very attentive and the owner came by to make sure that we were taken care of. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was, and the DJ/music was a nice vibe! All the meat is halal with the exception of the sausage there are vegetarian options!
