Ada Community Library, Star Branch

A great library for the size that it is. Friendly staff.

The librarians were so helpful in getting me set up with a card and giving me a quick tour of many of the things the library offers. They have so many great things to encourage a love for reading AND keep kids active and engaged. We will definitely be regular patrons of the star branch.

Great selection of kids materials and large play area.. there's also an annex/separate building that houses activities and story time. Even though the branch is small, the Ada county network is big and I've been able to get pretty much anything sent to this branch. I love that I can request a title and have it there to pick up in a few days.

Staff is incredibly helpful. That includes all the wonderful volunteers!!

My husband and I are huge fans of our Star Library. We have borrowed many books on tape for our many lengthy trips to California and Nevada. The librarians know who the best readers are when I pick out a book on tape. Some readers will put you to sleep when you have to listen to them for hours--not a good thing when traveling. We borrow movies all the time as well, not to mention the many books we've borrowed. I especially love that they bring in really fun cookbooks by famous chefs (I always head to the recent arrivals table first). Right now I am borrowing "Smoke and Pickles" by Edward Lee, and "Secrets of the Best Chefs", by Adam Robers. They are both great reads and full of fantastic recipes. If the movie or book we want is not in stock they order it from one of the other Ada County
