We visited A2B and had a very disappointing experience. After waiting nearly 20 minutes for someone to take our order, we asked for a chili paratha and two coffees. Being a group of four, we were then told that such an order could not be served for dine-in and would only be available to-go—information shared only after the long wait. The place also appeared severely understaffed. We proceeded to order coffee to-go, which took another 10 minutes to arrive. The coffee was watery, poorly prepared, and tasted as if it was made without any real experience and charged around $5.00 for each incl all (Taxes and Card processing fee). When we inquired about the delay, instead of addressing the issue, the staff chose to explain how coffee is made. Overall, this was frustrating and unacceptable servi
This place is complete knockoff version of the authentic A2B. It’s far from the original. We ordered the idli and madhu vada plate, and the Sambar and chutney clearly indicate that it’s not authentic. The masala dosa was quite flat, and the potato masala was bland. I never thought the typical South Indian dish could be so poorly prepared in a supposed to be authentic place.
Nothing like having fresh, crispy dosa! I also order regularly from here - love the lemon rice, yogurt rice and idli.
It was surprising to find an AUTHENTIC SOUTH INDIAN RESTAURANT in NYC. I literally had “BACK TO HOME” feel after a long period. I would recommend to try their South Indian Thali and Dosa’s. The food preparation and presentation was awesome. Friendly and warm welcoming gesture from Staff. Finished off with their excellent Masala Chai that had perfect texture and flavor.
This place has been our mainstay for south Indian food in NYC over the years. After a hiatus of several years due to the pandemic, we revisited A2B for indoor dining and greatly enjoyed ourselves. The idli vada combo, the Rasam, and the butter masala Dosa were excellent as always. The Rava Masala dosa felt a tad chewy (not as crisp as I remembered) but overall, we were very pleased with the experience. The Gulab Jamun was a nice way to round out the meal. This place is worth a visit if you're craving South Indian food in NYC! Update: Went back for more great food! The experience was great, even though they had issues with sending the food to the wrong tables, which led to longer than expected wait times. Hope they resolve this quickly! We had the Rocket Dosa, the Bullet Dosa (dosa with
