I ordered the oxtail plate this afternoon. The wait was not long for the food and it came out fresh and hot. The flavor is amazing. The only complaint I have is that I should’ve ordered extra gravy! My order came with three sides, which were plantains, cabbage, rice and peas. you also have the choice of another rice or steamed veggies. I will be back to try out other items on the menu thank you for your quick and pleasant service!! Also thank you for being open on a Monday!
Very great customer service by the guy at the front counter, but the food was not the best. I love oxtails and I’ve had them from multiple places… I hate to say that these were probably the worst I’ve had. They were not tender at all and the gravy tasted funny, so did the cabbage. I wont say the food was complete garbage, but it just wasn’t for me, so I won’t go back. But A-1 for stellar service!!
I was in the area, coming from Charlotte, on my way up North, and decided to stop in to check out the mall. Since I had not had lunch, I walked around the food court to see what they had to offer. I noticed A Taste of Home and saw my favorite food, oxtail. I was greeted by one of the most pleasant ladies. She welcomed me and took my order. I decided to eat my food in the car because I had an appointment in 40 minutes, so I wouldn't have a microwave to reheat the food after my appointment, which would've taken almost two hours. I consider myself an oxtail aficionado. When I tasted the oxtail, it didn't have the flavor that I'm accustomed to. It was different. It was more of a barbecue/tomato taste type of flavor. Don't be mistaken--it was good nonetheless, but just different. The cabbage a
I got the curry goat plate. The goat itself was good. It was nice and tender and flavored well, everything else on my plate was inedible. The rice and peas were dry and hard. The plantain was dry and hard, the cabbage was barely chopped and not flavored well.
Mac was HORRIBLE a total waste of money Stew chicken was sweet not what I’m used to Curry chicken was good👍🏾
