A La Heart Kitchen

As the co-owner of Retro Chic, I’m always happy to hype up local spots that are doing something special — and À la Heart Kitchen absolutely qualifies. They have a scone with bacon in it. Bacon. In. A. Scone. Honestly, enough said. It’s savory, unexpected, and dangerously good in the best way possible. À la Heart Kitchen nails that perfect balance of creative comfort food and genuine community vibe. It’s the kind of place you recommend without hesitation and bring out-of-town friends to immediately. Local supporting local — and loving every bite.

Found this place earlier this week and was intrigued. I got the pastrami sandwich, meatloaf sandwich, salmon chowder, and butternut squash lasagna from the fridge. I warmed up the pastrami for lunch when I got home. It took about 3 bites for me to reach the conclusion that it was legitimately one of the best sandwiches I have ever eaten. I am glad I found this place, and I will be back for more!

I visit A La Heart once a week to get some pre-made meals, a latte, and sometimes a sweet something, like this Caramel Apple Scone, which I apologize for being a half-eaten picture but it’s FLAVOR inspired this review. Beyond scrumptious. The food is always delicious (the soups are my favorite) and the owner is so very friendly and welcoming. Aside from the food it is also a great place to shop for an artisan gift. 10/5 stars for A La Heart!

First time walking in, owner was amazingly so nice!! The Apple Carmel Scone!!!! Literally the best scone I have ever had. Not dense like other either. Wow!!!!!!

Mariana coordinated our catering order. Great food, ample portions, reasonably priced and even offered and gave help with platter/utensils. Excellent communication throughout. Highly recommend this caterer and would use again without doubts.
