A fantastic restaurant with an equally fantastic owner and staff. The food is outstanding, and the atmosphere offers a truly cozy dining experience. Their specials are so good they’re hard to choose from. When I ordered the veal parm and the owner nodded in approval, I knew I made the right call. My wife had the butternut squash ravioli and absolutely loved it. A 12/10 experience.
I’ve been to many of the “great Italian” places in the city, but I’d put this up there if not above those. The food is so fresh and true old world Italian - and delicious. The waitstaff quickly become your friends and make the experience that much better. My girlfriend and I get to speak with the owner (Vincenzo) each time we go, and you don’t get that anywhere else. If you’re in a pinch for a great meal with an easy-going vibe - do yourself a favor and go to 83 1/2. Thank me later!
An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. The food was truly outstanding, beginning with the crab cake served on a bed of avocado mousse, without question, the best I have ever had. Perfectly balanced, flavorful, and beautifully presented, it set the tone for the rest of the meal. The Paccheri alla Vodka was equally impressive, rich and comforting with a depth of flavor that reflects true Italian craftsmanship. Beyond the cuisine, the restaurant offers a warm, cozy, and family-oriented atmosphere that makes you feel genuinely welcomed. The staff is friendly, attentive, and professional, enhancing the overall experience. This is a place you must visit to enjoy excellent food, exceptional service, and a welcoming environment that invites you to return.
We were recommended this restaurant by a local and it does not disappoint. The food was phenomenal and the service is spectacular. Truly worth the stop if you want delicious Italian food with amazing hosts.
Great experience going for the first time. Food is slightly pricey but well priced for the area and you get good serving sizes. Very quiet and cozy restaurant. The service was amazing. The staff were very kind and loved conversing. You could tell they enjoy what they do and being at the restaurant. They even gave me a little candle for my birthday, sang, and made jokes. The food was great. The bread had a char to it that was unique. Slightly burnt, I think but it was kind of nice. The pasta was a prefect al dente. The boar ragu was a seasonal offering I'm glad I went with. Their trofie (short rib) is definitely one of the best pasta I had. Highly recommended that everyone in the neighborhood give it a go. They have BYOB on Monday/Tuesday which is no corkage fees!
