Overall review: it’s okay, about what you’d expect. They had a fun drink and appetizer options (go for those) but food is mostly mediocre and kind of bland. Great: Pretzel appetizers, they have fun mocktails, big and fun/cute menu Good: mac & cheese (thick and creamy), onion rings, huckleberry lemonade, bbq chicken, sweet potato fries, portion sizes! Mediocre: ribs, pulled pork, brisket, prime rib dip sandwich, corn short ribs, sauces Bad: Campfire burgers (overly processed patty/not real ground beef, it was like a beef chicken nugget reheated). *There is an 18% gratuity added for groups over 6 but they said the waiter doesn’t get it for tips so you’re getting double tipped.

We got the pulled pork sandwich with smoked mac n cheese and sweet potato fries. The sandwich came with Carolina gold sauce, which is kind of a mustard or vinegar based bbq sauce, along with pickled onions and pickle slices. The meat itself was a little plain, just smoked meat, though it was moist. The buns were also toasted. Many people mentioned the smoked mac n cheese, but it wasn't particularly special or different from a creamy white cheddar sauce, so I don't get it. It was okay. The sweet potato fries were pretty good and came with a choice of sauce - we got fry sauce. It seemed a little on the pricey side for a single sandwich, side, and fries, so we shared it. The food is consistently excellent, the meat is tender and full of flavor, and the portions are generous. The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, and the staff is always friendly and efficient. Whether you’re a local or just passing through Afton, 225 BBQ is a must-stop for lunch or dinner. I’ve eaten here multiple times and the quality is always on point. Highly recommend!

Stopped here today and had a pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries, potato salad, and smoked mac and cheese. My wife and I loved it. Very tasty. The Carolina gold and spicy bbq sauce were excellent. Great service. We will be stopping there again next time we are in Afton.

The meat (chicken, ribs, and brisket) was unfortunately very bland. Cooked fine otherwise, though it wasn't warm by the time it got to our table, despite a bit of a wait (not a bad wait, but seems like maybe the meat ended up waiting on the fries perhaps?). We liked the fries, and the mac and cheese was pretty decent.
