川湘小馆Hunan Szechuan Cuisine

Amazing Sichuan & Hunan cuisine! We ordered the Mao Xue Wang, Twice-Cooked Pork, and Salted Egg Yolk Tofu, and every dish was incredibly flavorful and authentic. The spice level was just right and the food tasted freshly made. The owner was extremely kind and welcoming. they even gave us an extra dish on the house, which made the experience even better. Great food, generous portions, and wonderful service. Highly recommend and will definitely come back!

I had such a great experience at Chuan Xiang Xiao Guan in Mountain View! The food was absolutely delicious — authentic Hunan and Szechuan flavors with the perfect balance of spice and aroma. Every dish tasted fresh and full of flavor, and you can really tell they care about quality. The portions were generous, the service was friendly and attentive, and the atmosphere felt cozy and welcoming. If you love bold, spicy Chinese cuisine, this place is definitely worth a visit. Highly recommend and will definitely be coming back!

Enjoyed lunch here. The stir fried dishes are delicious and not too greasy. We had grandma stir fried pancakes and grandma stir fried rice. And a few stir fried dishes. The Kung Pao chicken is quite different though. They have a large menu and will return to try more dishes.

Only commenting on the taste. The food was great the first 2 times back in November 2025. Got a takeout, including a Stir-Fried Sliced Pork with Jalapeno 农家小炒肉 in 2026. About half of the meat is fat. The seasoning is fine, but the ingredients didn’t taste fresh. Both of us weren’t full but stopped eating halfway. Photo is what’s left. For this dish, we paid $26 in total. I could probably throw something together quickly and it’d still taste better.

There are no misses with what we ordered. Everything was so delicious and made with fresh ingredients. The balance of spiciness and other flavors was perfect. Special shout-out to the stone pot frog was a pleasant surprise for sure. Didn't expect it to be this good.
