Zheng Chinese Restaurant

Recently had lunch here with my wife. The experience was a little sub-par. I'll say that it looks to be more of a take out place. The inside seems old and a little dirty. The booths are ripped and there are boxes placed all over tables as well. The young man that waited on us was super nice. My wife ordered a chicken and broccoli and wanted to add cashews to it. He said that he could do that, but when the order came out it had water chestnuts. When she pointed that out to him he said that he was sorry and he went in the back and got a bowl of hard cashews and gave it to her. She said well they're kind of hard can I get them cooked in the sauce you know like mixed in and he said yeah just put them on top and make some around, from there we just didn't ask anymore because he wasn't gett

We were the only ones here in the middle of the afternoon, so naturally, the service was excellent. The food? So delicious! I got the sesame beef and boy, It was out of this world! It was crunchy and just plain yummy. Everything else was good, too.

I recently ordered the crab rangoons (listed as cheese wontons) for takeout but decided to dine in instead. While the 6 pieces I received were crispy and cooked just right, I felt the portion size was underwhelming for the $9.49 price tag. During my solo dine-in experience, I noticed a male staff member emerging from the back with food for himself and seemingly inquired about me in his native language with the female at the counter. Kind of gave me an uneasy feeling, being that I was the only one in there. I hurried and finished and left.

I think this place is a hidden gem!! I love the food and their teas are unmatched. My go to is the house fried rice best in the city! The staff and customer is amazing I recommend them to anyone who wants fresh good food.

The hot and sour soup is very delicious, we go three dishes they all are very yummy!! Highly recommend.
