Zara Shawarma Grill

You can tell coming in here that Jason, the owner of Zara, loves what he does, and it shows in the food he makes! I got a large chicken shawarma salad and it was amazing, the chicken was perfect, and he makes the pickled turnips in house. I will absolutely be back here!

My first time going there today. Ordered a Beef Shawarma bowl. It was disgusting!! Dry with no seasoning, the beef looked like dried dog food. The rice was dry. I don't know how the reviews are good. Maybe paid reviews. But please come to Detroit, Dearborn, Livonia or Northville for some good authentic Mediterranean food. I spent $13 and threw my food in the garbage!!!!

I have not had this place since the first year it opened. Since then they have made some great improvements. As a local middle eastern, I’ve eaten a lot of beef shawarma and theirs is great. I little dry but flavor wise it’s really nice. I love how fresh and bright everything else. I’m a big fan of acidity with my meat, and they have a good choice of different pickles to put on your sandwich. I also love that they give you the option to toast the bread. You need to toast the bread, a room temperature full loaf of pita sandwich isn’t good. I also ordered the hummus and tabouli and both were great. The hummus consistently was a bit thin but they make it that way to spread it on the sandwich. Well worth the $15. Their garlic sauce is also wonderful. I’ll be back. And will be my next go to

The tabouli was just like I’ve had made it home. The Fatu salad was phenomenal and the chicken Shawarma sandwich was perfect. Hey Jason, my aunt and I will definitely be getting food from you again!

Decided to try out Zara, have been wanting to for awhile. My wife, son, & I decided to try the Chicken Shawarma Bowl combo. Chicken, yellow rice (they don't have white rice), & multiple toppings & sauces to choose from, with different sides & drinks (with combo). The chicken & rice were a tad dry, & the garlic sauce was a little tangy for my taste. Otherwise, the taste was fine, & it was a decent size portion for price. The staff was really nice & friendly. We will probably try them again in the future.
