Zao Asian Grill

The food here is good and fresh. I do wish that they had some recommended recipes because I find myself deciding between what sauce goes on what. I did a mixture of teryaki and their chili sauce (totally forgot the name) and it was good. The flavor isn't like amazing because I do find it kind of lacking in that regard. I just was looking for more I guess. My family enjoyed their drink options though, they were all tasty and even had canned options that are healthy. The employees were all really friendly as well. This was my second time trying it, I could see myself coming back.

I am excited to have this new restaurant in our area. I like that the menu options are healthier than a burger and fries. The portions are generous and the price is reasonable. I had the king pao chicken. It wasn't too spicy. My husband had the teriyaki steak and it was very good and tender. There is indoor and outdoor seating. I will definitely be back!

Nice new addition to the Treasure Valley providing other options other than another chicken restaurant. It was busting out the doors when we arrived. The service was awesome and for a long as the lines were the crew took care of the customers very well. Very friendly staff. Nice part to rush hour the food was coming out hot and fresh. Flavor and choices were not anything special. It was like a mix of 🐼 express and noodles&co. Nice ambiance if it were not so packed, there is outside seating available. Over all for a quick bite to grab for the location it's a good place to check out. But if you are looking to be wowed, there are more authentic places in the valley.

Update ** We’ve come back to visit twice since opening and the food is just as delicious! However, the protein portions are embarrassingly small. My review would drop to 3 stars if not for the high quality which I feel like bumps it to 4 starts. We got the burrito one of the times for my kids and there were about 2 tablespoons of the shredded pork and the edges of the tortilla were rock hard. I’m also disappointed about the upcharge for yakisoba noodle base because it bumps up the bowls into sit-down restaurant pricing. It was about $45 for 3 dishes which is too steep for a fast casual restaurant in my opinion, especially with small protein portions. If price isn’t as big of a concern then I still recommend this place because you can tell how fresh everything is! And I still love the green

We decided to try someplace new and we were not disappointed, other than the small portions of the meat and veggies. Three pieces of cilantro EXACTLY lol. It was super busy when we were there, but they were definitely well staffed. I had the chicken and rice bowl and my husband had the steak bowl and three potstickers. All were very good and flavorful.
