Zach's Bistro

I was very disappointed, especially after reading the positive reviews and the description on the website. I ordered three bowls of chowder to go, and the total came to $51. Unfortunately, what I received was surprising and concerning. My order was packaged in three previously used jars that appeared dirty. One of the jars didn’t even have a lid and was placed inside a large Ziploc bag. I was told to be careful because it might spill. For the price I paid, I expected safe, clean, and secure packaging. Because of the condition the food was provided in, I did not feel comfortable eating it. I was genuinely worried about food safety and the possibility of getting sick. I’m sharing this so others are aware of what they may experience and can make an informed decision.

I just enjoyed one of the most spectacular meals that I have ever eaten! It does require reservations but the owner/chef works hard to make sure that your meal is wonderful. It is a one-man operation but we never felt ignored or forgotten. I had the black cod and it was melt in your mouth tender. It was served with Brussels sprouts, local mushrooms and a quinoa cake that was out of this world. The dessert was a lemon napoleon with raspberry compote. The lemon curd was absolutely amazing! I will be coming here again, soon.

This was quite literally the greatest dining experience I’ve ever had the pleasure of having. We arrived just before our reservation to an empty restaurant and Zach immediately greeted us and sat us down to our table. He did everything for us, hosting, serving, cooking, and bartending. Was very kind but also very to the point. We made sure not to wear any fragrances per the website which I recommend you read. Everything brought out was one of a kind, leaving us with a dish that was fresh and interesting as well as so delicious it could end wars. Not mention how brilliantly paced it was, seconds after finishing a dish Zach would emerge to collect our plates and check in. Then within 2 minutes the next would be out and ready. Incredible. A owner chef server in 1 human, for the food and atmosphere to be so top notch, is remarkable. To do most or all of the menu gluten-free brings Zach to near sainthood. We didn't know what to expect, but were pleasantly surprised at each dish. Thoughtful preparation, top notch ingredients, and kind and attentive service. This is our new favorite place in our favorite coastal town. We'll be back, often. Please honor Zachs wishes and leave the perfumes and colognes for another time. Zach is sensitive and we agree, too much of that stuff ruins the tasting experience.

A delightful experience, feels very intimate! The Chefs Tasting is a stellar choice to try a variety of flavorful dishes. Zach is not only an excellent chef, but a wonderful host as well. Well worth the price, and I look forward to our next visit!
