The interior decor is typical of Chinese noodle shops, except the name doesn't necessarily suggest it's from Chongqing. Seeing the recommended xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) on the wall gave it a better feel for it. The service was okay. After all, here you'd expect a tip unless you did it yourself. I ordered two types of noodles, both with sesame sauce. The taste was definitely different from what I'd had in Chongqing; the sesame sauce made me feel full more easily. I also ordered cucumber salad and this Sichuan peppercorn chicken (not pre-cooked, but pre-cooked and heated up when I ordered), both with peanuts. I forgot if they had sesame sauce. In the end, all four dishes tasted pretty much the same—just so-so.
Yu Noodles is my absolute favorite. Not only is the food outstanding, but the service is too. My favorite and usual order is the spicy marinated beef and tripe, cucumbers in garlic sauce, pork soup dumplings, and sichuan beef noodle soup – I typically eat the sides and dumplings in and take the soup plus whatever is left to go! The cucumbers in garlic sauce are out of this world – the sauce is so delicious I dream about it and could honestly probably drink it straight. I’ll eat the cucumbers and beef and tripe together since they compliment each other so well. Something I love about their beef noodle soup is that they top it with pickled mustard greens which I haven’t found at many other chinese restaurants in the area. There’s always a good serving of tender beef and a lot of bok choy a
The food was delicious! The waiter and the staff were all very nice, helpful, patient, and friendly. I usually don’t go out of my way to write reviews, but this one deserved it! We visited on a Friday night after our small hike in Great Falls, and it felt very satisfying to enjoy great food with great people.
Very pleased from the moment I walked in and was served. Given cucumber water as soon as we sat down, and waitress was very nice. Serving was generous and hot! Beef was amazing and the broth was delicious. I left nothing in the bowl. Wish they had one in my home town, would eat there at least once a week. Will be back if I'm ever in town again!
A dumpling craving hit, so we had to give this place a try. I wouldn't say the dumplings are the best things at this restaurant, the shrimp ones were enjoyable but we were told the pork were the best ones. As a non pork eater, I'll have to take their word for it. Our favorite dish however, was unanimously, the golden soup with beef brisket and rice noodles. Very flavorful and tasty! The staff was helpful with recommendations, and being attentive to ours table's needs. A very clean and well maintained dining area.
