Customer Reviews
The place felt clean, which set a good tone right away. The self-selected ingredients were a fun touch—I liked being able to pick exactly what I wanted, and the broth was flavorful without feeling heavy. Service was laid-back but attentive, and they didn’t push for tips, which I appreciated. Parking? Way easier than I expected, super convenient. Ingredients were plenty and fresh too; it didn’t feel like they were skimping on anything. Overall, simple but solid food with a friendly vibe.
Great experience overall. The ingredients are fresh and there’s a wide variety of options, including vegetables, meats, and noodles, so you can easily customize your bowl to your own taste. The broth is flavorful with a well-balanced level of spice, not too oily or overwhelming. The restaurant is clean, service is efficient, and food comes out pretty quickly. It’s a solid choice for a quick, satisfying meal whether you’re eating alone or with friends. Definitely a reliable spot when you’re craving something warm and comforting.
Delicious and fresh! The broth is rich and flavorful, and they have a huge variety of ingredients to choose from. The DIY sauce station is a great bonus. Highly recommend!
YGF Malatang in Chino Hills is a fantastic spot for customizable Chinese street-food style malatang. You build your own bowl with an impressive array of fresh ingredients—meats, veggies, noodles, seafood, and more—then choose your spice level and broth or dry mix. Priced at around $13.99/lb (with a 1 lb minimum), it’s easy to pile on and still feel like a great value. The flavors are bold and authentic, especially the numbing mala spice and rich beef bone broth options. Standouts include the flavorful dry mix and perfectly cooked items. Service is quick, portions generous, and the casual vibe makes it ideal for groups or solo meals. Highly addictive—definitely a go-to in the area!
Clean establishment, reasonably priced, and FRESH ingredients! I come here when I’m missing my time living in Shanghai. The soup bases are delicious and I highly recommend the medium spicy beef bone broth if you can handle a bit of heat. And if you’re don’t have a big appetite, sharing one bowl should be enough, or you can just have a ton of leftovers!
