I had the pleasure of eating at Yaad Style Jamaican Cuisine, and wow — this place delivers real Jamaican flavor. My favorite dish, ackee and saltfish, was cooked perfectly — rich, savory, and authentic, just like it’s supposed to be. From the first bite, you can tell the food is made with care and tradition. The seasoning is on point, the portions are generous, and everything tastes fresh and homemade. The jerk has that perfect balance of spice and smokiness, and the oxtail is tender, flavorful, and falls right off the bone. On top of that, the vibe feels like home and the staff is warm and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The food is amazing. I tried the jerk chicken the last time I dined in, and it was absolutely delicious. This time I decided to try the oxtail, first time having oxtail, and OMG!!!! it was sooooooooooo good. I will definitely be coming back for more. I would also suggest trying the kola champaign, just a soda, but tastes great.

Hands down some of the best Jamaican food I’ve had. The jerk chicken was perfectly cooked—bold, smoky, and full of authentic spice without being overpowering. The oxtail was incredibly tender, slow-cooked to perfection, and soaked in a rich, flavorful gravy that was unforgettable. Every bite tasted fresh and homemade. Yaad is authentic Jamaican cuisine right in Portland, Oregon! The flavor of the oxtails, jerk bbq ribs, rice and peas, jerk wings, festival and the plantain were perfection! My nephew had the jerk chicken wrap, and he said it was delicious! Oh, and I can't forget the rum punch, which took me back to the island of Jamaica, with its authentic flavor! Also, the customs service and vibe were wonderful! If you haven't dined here; don't sleep on this restaurant. I promise you won't be disappointed!!👍

Rare Vegan Authentic Jamaican Food Probably the only place in Portland where you can eat Brown Stew Tofu with a side of Festival! The flavor of the Brown Stew Tofu is slightly sweet with a main deep tomato flavor, pairing that up with their Rice & Beans and it's incredible. That Festival though, wow, it tasted amazing! It's more so like an old fashioned donut with how sweet is it and tasted too weird to dip it in the savory dish. Instead, we enjoyed it on its own, and it did not disappoint. Very crispy on the outside and pillowy on the inside. They also have Jerk Tofu and Curry Tofu to which we can proudly say are also a delight, but our favorite is the Brown Stew Tofu.
