Wooden Heart

I've been there when it was other restaurant. They kept the same warm and inviting feel. As we walked in, we were greeted immediately. We were shown our seats and washer was supplied immediately. Our server was also our bartender and his drink suggestion was spot on. We ordered an appetizer of the calamari and it was delicious. The use of Nước chấm and peppers gave a complex taste that started our sweet and ended with some heat. Lunch was light with some soap and salad along with paan to top it off. It was a wonderful atmosphere to sit and catch up with a friend. It made for a relaxing lunch in a sunny and cold winter day.

Food NOT very good. - I ordered “Linguini alle Vongole” because I specifically wanted linguini pasta. They served spaghetti (see photo), and when I asked about the mistake, they said that was their version of linguini. - We also ordered a Prosciutto + Pear pizza, and it came extremely burnt (see photo). - The kids’ menu is very limited, and they charge $10 for buttered spaghetti (basically just boiled in water). - Ambience: excellent.

Absolutely wonderful little spot! It's nice having options in town that aren't fast food, but aren't as expensive as some of the other options. The food was delicious, and the drinks very tasty. All of the staff we talked to were very friendly and helpful as well. We had 3 people in our group, and everyone had a different dish; each was great. We had the pizza, the cheeseburger, and fish 'n chips. Of the 3 the fish 'n chips were a little on the heavy side, but still good. Everyone also had a different desert, and everyone enjoyed theirs (I must say, I think the crème brûlée I had was the best one). We will definitely be back.

We stayed at The Dundee Hotel and popped in to Wooden Heart for dinner after an afternoon of wine tasting. We were absolutely blown away by the food—it was top notch fine dining caliber. We ordered the Wood-Fired Carrots, the Calamari, The Forager, and the Peanut Butter Pie. Everything was gastronomical perfection, but the carrots stole the show! Dinner was so good that we returned the next morning for breakfast, sharing the Eggs Benedict, which did not disappoint. Wooden Heart runs circles around the best restaurants in Portland, with better prices, bigger portions, fantastic service, and great atmosphere. We will be making the trip to visit this little slice of culinary heaven often!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Delightful lunch at Wooden Heart! We tried the Soppressata pizza and it was incredible. The wood-fired crust was perfect, with a light char that added a smoky nuance. The pizza is a perfect balance of sweet and spicy. Every bite was a balanced take on sweet, spicy, salty, and creamy… a real crowd-pleaser. The flavors felt intentional and thoughtfully combined, making it clear that Wooden Heart cares deeply about quality. Paired with their relaxed yet refined atmosphere and friendly service, it’s an ideal stop whether you’re wine-tasting in Dundee or just passing through. Highly recommend!
