Best ice cream in the Northwoods. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area. Even when I visited on a rainy evening there was a line waiting outside the door, but the staff keeps the line moving, so the line outside moved quickly. Flavors rotate, so picking out even one flavor is hard, unless you're a chocolate, strawberry or vanilla type of person. Had the blueberry waffle cone & the blueberry taste was wonderful, but not over the top. Other scoop was chocolate peanut butter, & loaded with lots of peanut butter. Vanilla shake was thick. Scoop size is well worth the price. Seating outside. No food served.

Top tier ice cream! A MUST stop! You should definitely go. The day I went, they had a variety of flavors that I'd never heard of. Got the cookie monster flavor, and it was delicious! The scoop is massive, so beware the size!

How can you not LOVE The Windmill! I have been stopping here every time I come up to our cabin since as long as I can remember! At least while they're open. There are so many choices of ice cream to choose from and friendly faces to serve it to you! Prices are great and various options of cones and dish, careful the scoops are always bigger than you think! There are some many flavors to choose from and constantly rotating, there is sure to be something you will enjoy You can expect a line out the door on any summer night and the wait is worth it! They recently made some changes to help with the flow inside, grabbing your ice cream, paying, then out to a little seating area, walking back to your boat, or down the trail to enjoy it! It is cash only, they don't take card. 🍦🍨

Wonderful local ice cream shop, it’s always a must stop for us! Everyone working is very nice & the amount of ice cream you get for the price is amazing. It’s cash only although there is an atm at the bar across the street. There’s a good amount of tables out back to sit and eat your ice cream

A wonderful ice cream shoppe! Huge portions and beyond reasonable prices. The folks who work there are very friendly. Tables and benches to sit outside. Overall, my new favorite ice cream shop!
