Customer Reviews
Wonderful products. The pastries were yummy. We also bought some ready-to-fry Schnitzels here. And pretzels too. Lots of imported German foods too and the staff was super friendly.
What a unique place to visit in the Springs! It's so cool hearing the staff and customers chatting in German. The pastries are delightful, and the food truck outside has amazing lunch. The Bavarian Sandwich with fries is phenomenal and huge. Definitely will be coming back to stock up again soon!
The market offers authentic German fare. The bread and pastries are pretty good. Good selection of deli meats and cheeses and other items - either pre-sliced and packaged or cut to order. I recommend to go early as they sell out fast.
Neighborhood gem! I regularly walk over here to pick up some fresh bread or pretzels, and various items from the deli counter. There's a different selection of pastries depending on the day. The fresh breads are fantastic (king Ludwig bread is my current favorite) and we've enjoyed trying all kinds of brats. They stock many goods I haven't seen since living in Germany, including large selections of Ritter sport and Haribo. All reasonably priced as well. Very highly recommend!
I grew up in Germany. Now I am here. For Germans, bread is important and bakeries are everywhere. The last one I was in in Germany was in a DIY store. Bread and Broetchen (rolls) and Suesse Stueckchen (Danishes - what do the Danes have to do with it?), everything is essential to one's well-being. It is not that factory and plastic bag-bagged stuff they sell in supermarkets in the US. It needs to be fresh and air and corn syrup should not be the main components. When we discovered Wimbergers a decade ago or more, it helped so much to feel at home here. They deliver by mail, you can freeze it and always have fresh German bread. When in Colorado Springs, Wimberger's is a mandatory stop. They have German sausages and German Wurst (which is different form sausages = Wuerstchen), German Schinken
