Wholly Grill

i've been going here for like 10 yrs now and i always get the liempo w/ mac salad. chona is a fantastic woman who cares about her customers. it will take 30 minutes to get your food but it is always worth it and clearly made-to-order. i like that they have food that you don't find at other filipino restaurants. if they ever close down i might actually cry.

First time going to Wholly Grill. Ordered lumpia and lechon over the phone. Quality of food is good and portions were reasonable for the price. Biggest hang up is Stephen/Steven and the cold service from him. While I understand it was early afternoon on Xmas Eve, there was no wait and food was already pre-ordered. I asked if they’re serving everything on the menu and he said, “well, it depends what you want.” I said I’m still browsing and asked if he knew of any particular dishes that isn’t available so that I can skip over it. Once again, he repeated himself and said, “like I said, it all depends on what you want.” It’s a fair response and I have no problem with that. Poor service. The staff member who took our order seemed disengaged and uninterested, as if he shouldn’t even be there. He didn’t ask what we wanted to order, and it took a long time before we could place our order. Food is bland.

It’s hard to find a good mom and pop Filipino Restaurant nowadays. This place had soggy rice; Lechon was so oily that it pooled at the bottom of the take-out box, like they didn’t even drain it from the fryer; empanada was cold. Will not be returning here.

With the good luck of Google we found this place and it was awesome! Great food, reasonable prices and terrific service. Don't hesitate if you come across this way gem from the Philippines!
