We stopped by on a Wednesday but they were closed. To our surprise the owners were inside and insisted on serving us. OMG the nicest people in the world, which turned into a full blown tour of the town. In a world where customer service seems to be dead, Dixie and Jim have knocked it out of the park. We have now found our regular stop as we travel between SC and FL. And the shop within their restaurant is AMAZING.

I would go out of my way to visit and eat at the Whistling Dixie. This sandwich and soup was awesome. I would pay double for the lunch.

We stopped in for lunch after our visit to the Okeefenokee. What an absolute delight this restaurant and shop turned out to be. Dixie made us feel welcome the moment we stepped into the building. We ordered the Ms Ginny with the raspberry mustard, delicious! Dixie (I am going to title her the official ambassador for the city of Folkston) was a delight to talk to. We talked about the Okeefenokee becoming a Unesco or World Heritage sight, first in Georgia. Folkston history with trains and more. We topped off lunch ice cream. All in all it was a wonderful place and I highly recommend you stop in, you will not be disappointed.

Absolutely superb chicken salad sandwich. I had one of their hot macadamia nut cookies just out of the oven. That cookie alone was with stopping in. This is a quaint little eatery and we'll worth the money spent for a great lunch.

Great local place with friendly staff and delicious food. Had the roast beef sandwich special. It was so good!
