Some of the best food around! If You looking for a good soul food place to eat at i can't recommend this place enough. And I'm from the South so I know good soul food and this is definitely it! And the Mac and cheese is so so good! So happy this place is here. Definitely give them a try!!

I finally got a chance to check out Where the Locals Go in Dumfries, and it’s exactly what the neighborhood needed. It’s a fantastic, Black-owned small business that clearly takes pride in what they serve. ​The food was incredibly fresh and flavorful—you can tell it's made to order. They serve HUGE 'big back' portions that you can get 3 meals out of. ​What impressed me most was the efficiency. Despite everything being fresh, our food was ready in just 15 minutes. It’s the perfect spot when you want a high-quality, hearty meal without the long wait. Supporting local gems like this is so important, and the quality here makes it easy. We will definitely be returning!

Had a great experience at Where the Locals Go. The food was delicious. I had the whiting filet, candied yams, mac and cheese, collard greens, seafood salad, and a mango lemonade. Portions were huge, and they even threw in a free potato salad. The vibes were on point and the music made the wait enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back!

This hidden gem is fantastic! Their food is made fresh and portion sizes are great. My meal consisted of Mac n cheese, collard greens, and fried wings and shrimp. Everything was slammin', seasoned and floured perfectly.
