What-A-Burger

We visited another NC What-A-Burger in Mooresville. Different building design but same 50's style burger joint. This little building is unique. The bathrooms are entered from the outside. The inside is small. There is an outside table for dinning. But most people pull into the small parking area while someone walks to each car writing down your order. They only take cash some come prepared. We ordered two cheeseburgers, loaded fries and a coca cola. It may not be for everyone, but we enjoyed the food and experience.

What a great burger. I needed a nap afterwards. Great fries as well. My new favorite spot on the way to Holden Beach.

First time visit. Saw the name as I came running since I moved from the area where the NC What-A-Burger is established. Quickly found out they are not them. Nor are they the Texas based company by the same name. Small town independently owned just using the same name. This place is small on a small corner. Looks more like a tool shed than a restaurant. Only take out and only cash. They have three barstools but no room to move around. If more than 3 people are there someone has to wait outside. No bathrooms, strictly take out only, no drive thru but they do take orders by phone. One customer told me to get the fries and he was right. Mediocre at best. Onion ring too greasy to eat. Burger the size of a slider. Three stars for fries (very good) and car hop. Dont plan on going back again.

This place has the best fries ever. They've been my favorite since I was a kid and while they've changed a little bit and down graded a tad in quality from the old ones, they're still the best! The burgers are also pretty good.
