The Chef & the Frog

I had a very nice dining experience at this restaurant today. I guess this is my 4th visit over the years. I have never been disappointed. The spicy Thai shrimp appetizer was delicious , a large quantity of shrimp very fresh and the shrimp were large.. the Japanese Wagyu beef was melt in your mouth, tender, and cooked to perfection. I also had roasted potatoes and seasonal vegetables. Both were perfect and fresh.. the dessert of the day was apple pie. It was wonderful. Highly recommended restaurant with passing through Whiteville on the way to the coast or heading through this area on the way home.. actually it's not too far when you're at the coast to make a trip there and return to your vacation. That's what I did. All prices were extremely reasonable concerning the quality of the food.

I had a great experience at The Chef & the Frog in Whiteville. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, and you can really tell they care about the quality of their food. Everything tasted fresh and well prepared, and the flavors were amazing. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for a unique place to eat in Whiteville with great food and a relaxed vibe, I definitely recommend stopping by The Chef & the Frog. I’ll definitely be coming back! 🐸🍽️

We celebrated my Mothers Birthday early today at the Chef and the Frog in Whiteville NC. It was Fantastic! We all ordered something different. Mediterranean Omlet, grilled Salmon with grits, Cordon Blu , and 9 oz steak and we shared the Shrimp and grits. We had no room for dessert, next time we will know better. Check them out, and if you are nearby or plan on passing through. OR check out Sophie's Cafe Bistro across the street! I heard the pastries and the Ruben are outstanding!

I really wanted to enjoy this local restaurant, but unfortunately the experience was disappointing. The restaurant appears unprepared to accommodate gatherings larger than about six people, which made our visit stressful instead of enjoyable. Service slowed significantly, food timing was inconsistent, and it felt like the kitchen was overwhelmed. Another surprise was a $3 per-slice cake cutting fee simply for bringing in an outside cake — especially frustrating given that outside desserts were only used because the in-house options were limited and didn’t meet our needs. Fees like this should be clearly communicated upfront. Small-town restaurants can be wonderful community spots, but organization, transparency, and the ability to handle reservations appropriately really matter. I hope m

WOW!!!!! A hidden gem! Trent and I have enjoyed MANY fine dining restaurants throughout Horry County through the years, this one TOPS them in all in so many ways! The owners are telling their fairytale story from the menu to the walls of beautifully framed photos of their lives together! If you are a wine lover, as I am, Do yourself a favor and ask Steve to suggest a perfect bottle pairing. If you are lucky, he will bring something from his own reserve! I don’t care what you choose from this menu, you will not be disappointed everything is spot on fantastic!!!
