This was a cool library and I thought the layout of the children’s section was cozy but open. Also offered many activity events which is great! I enjoyed my time there.
Stunning architecture and beautiful and remarkably clean and inviting public library. I loved how bright and welcoming the West Orange Public Library is especially the Men's Room. The library staff is nice and affable. They are so willing and accommodating to help all library patrons with questions and concerns and the check-out process for library items is simple and easy. I want to commend Deborah for making my first visit to the West Orange Public Library a beautiful and memorable experience.
This library is very nice and I love the quiet study areas. However, the staff talks too loud and makes it hard for me to focus on my studying/reading. Otherwise, I would give it a 5 stars. I hope that someone that is in charge will talk to the staff about the “quiet study areas” level of noises.
Sign on Rooney circle for the library. Huge parking lot. View of I-280. Nicely laid out multi floor with dedicated areas for young children and teens. Easily renewed my library card with my driver's license. The staff was friendly and helpful. Internet access was very good. There were quiet rooms and areas to sit and work. Clean restrooms. Currently there were African quilts on display throughout the library.
All together this is a good library but I deeply question the choice to move our library to this isolated nearly hidden part of town. The previous placement of library with nice outdoor setting around was an asset. Overall West Orange struggles with pedestrian access due to Llewellyn Park and 280. I just wish it didn’t have to be this way. I can never go back again to my childhood library. With its wooden tables. I can’t help but to feel that books were lost in the transfer. Maybe it’s a just a bigger space but it feels empty. I wish people came here to read. Everyone is on their phone or laptop. :(
