Washington Street Deli

Great little deli right off the Square in downtown Gainesville. Perfect for a grab-and-go meal to take back to work or on a picnic or stop at the little dining area to eat on-site. I was excited to find a wide variety of pre-made sandwiches on some really great ciabatta bread stacked high with meats and cheeses - and don’t forget to grab a pickle spear! If bread isn’t your thing, you can also get the egg salad and chicken salad in cups. There was an assortment of fun drink and dessert choices in the cooler, and they sell a bunch of international chips, snacks and candy in addition to your usual Lays and Doritos. I grabbed a quick sandwich and some snacks here the other day was really pleased by their selection and had a friendly interaction with the cashier. Great local spot to pick up some quick stuff

We were very excited that a local convenience store had opened and stepped inside. After looking around, we noticed that none of the products had prices on them... and after checking out, I can see why. All of their products are expensive imported items. It was difficult to find a simple can of Coke. I also found it very strange that there is no one making the sandwiches, even though the signs lead you to believe they are "made to order". They claim that all of the sandwiches are made fresh everyday, and I find that very hard to believe. The sandwiches are very plain with no vegetables/toppings, and not many options. I was really disappointed, but hopefully they can improve because there is a lot of potential and we really need a convenience store downtown.

I always walk by this place without realizing it and finally stopped in yesterday after many friends mentioned how they love running in to grab something here. Large selection & a bunch of cool/fun snacks that you can’t find anywhere else in the area!

Popped in to grab a sandwich for lunch. Excellent food! Even got some chocolate truffles for dessert which are PHENOMENAL. Will definitely stop by often for lunch!
