Wander Cookies Bake Shop

I used to drive three hours up from my house to come and get Jenny‘s cookies. I was excited to be in town to come and get some cookies, knowing that it has changed hands and is owned by a different company, but hoping it would be the same the taste was the same. The cookie was good, but the atmosphere was kind of a letdown. One employee literally looked like she got up off the wrong side of the bed that morning and wouldn’t even smile greet or say hi. I’m a bubbly personality and I greeted them better than they greeted me. One didn’t even look up from what she was doing and the one who helped us. She was smiling and cheerful. I ordered from California three dozen cupcakes for my husband‘s 75th birthday For last Saturday. Everyone at the party was boasting on how delicious they were. I want to thank you for an easy transaction from afar and having them ready.!

I am Gluten Free and they have really yummy frosted sugar cookies they have that fresh baked vibe and not overly sweet as some cookies can tend to be overwhelmingly sugary. Which takes away from the taste. Also GF cookies tend to be dry and these were soft and consistent in texture. The atmosphere is absolutely adorable and gives that nostalgic feeling of retro, simpler times. Definitely recommend!

Went to the lake Steven’s bake shop for the first time post-Jenny’s Cookies yesterday. Honestly, I’m in shock in the best way. There is something very refined and balanced about the cookies that has been enhanced. I loved Jenny’s, but the buttercream frosting from Wander is next level. It’s more buttery, and less chemically tasting (for lack of a better descriptor). The textures of the smash cookies were incredible and more intact, and the brown buttery Rice Krispie was divine. Unfortunately, I will be back more often than I should. Jenny’s was incredible, and Wander is carrying that forward to the future in a brilliant fashion.

My cookie was average and overpriced. The cookie was 7 dollars! The person said the cookies are like a meal and that why they are a bit more expensive. The cookie was smashed down so it may seem larger but its really not. I thought the flavor was lacking. I live near by and wanted to love this place but 7 dollars for an average cookie is not it. I sadly wont be back. I am all for supporting small business and even spending a bit more to do so but I can't justify that here.
