Walker's Diner

This place is great. I had the patty melt and my daughter had a grilled cheese and both were delicious. The staff were friendly and efficient. The seating is along a counter and there were a few locals/regulars there who were also friendly. I've heard it can be busy, but we lucked out and walked right in.

Yesterday at lunch was my first time experiencing Walker’s Diner, a Farmville landmark since 1952. My first impression of this establishment was that it had a lot of charm dating from a bygone era. The staff are exceptionally friendly, and I found my food to be delicious and memorable. The lettuce on my grilled chicken sandwich was very fresh. The lemon meringue pie was amazing. The interior space of the restaurant felt a little cramped, and that’s part of the charm of this popular diner. I look forward to returning to enjoy my second visit!

As much as I wanted to fall in love with this spot. I was highly disappointed. I will say the wait staff was very attentive so that was nice and gave at least two stars. But the food was just okay, and not worth the price we paid. It was about $15 per person for frozen food. For $3 lemonade, I'd hope it would have some fresh lemons but the lemonade was country time powdered lemonade. And there were a lot of flies.

Epitome of small local diner with friendly service and well prepared great food. BLT with onion rings did not disappoint. The chicken salad sandwich and strawberry rhubarb pie were excellent. Very limited seating inside, but there is seating outside and in the nearby caboose park if it's a nice day. Walker's adds to the Farmville charm.

An iconic Farmville experience with tasty food, a retro vibe, and kind service. Seating is always very limited so be prepared to eat outside if you have a large party. We went for breakfast/brunch and everything was delicious! Cheesy omelette, crispy hash browns, butter-soaked biscuits, and fluffy pancakes. The prices can get a little steep for some of the bigger breakfasts, but it's a fun experience.
