Waldport Public Library

Wow, this library is awesome! I received such a warm smile from the front desk gal upon entering, and it's just an idyllic and perfect space to collect your thoughts and get charged up with some writing and browsing. Surprisingly, excellent audiobook selection and selection in general - I'd move to this town just to soak in the library and atmosphere each week! Fun fact about libraries; Benjamin Franklin created the lending library and also the fire department, among many other things, including the Franklin stove - which he could have patented, but decided not to so people could share in the abundance and feel warmth that they otherwise might not receive - just like you get from a library like this and reading the books within. This is an amazing local library with deep ties into its community inspiring the next generation of writers. The programs they have for becoming a writer start early. Today I heard stories written by some of the local kids, the youngest I think was 9 years old. It would seem the learning never stops and can carry through the process of helping you self publish.

I asked to plug in my laptop and get some work done. Even without a library card they found me a quiet spot to work. They even let me leave the books I needed to donate.
