Wahaka El Bar y La Taqueria

I've eaten here a few times before. When they first opened they were very popular in the food was very good. The last two times I've ordered food from this location it has been just fair. I just ordered food for takeout, two tacos and a shrimp cocktail. I paid $12 for a shrimp cocktail. There is a picture attached. Literally maybe 1/2 a cup tomatoes and juice. As you can see in the picture there are maybe two shrimp that are diced up into pieces in this $12 shrimp cocktail. My order totaled $27.14 this will be the last time I will eat at this restaurant and I told the girl who took my order that it would be, and she didn't seem to care. For the life of me, I can’t understand any of the negative ratings on this place. These are the best, most authentic tacos that I’ve had in Metro Atlanta. The environment is wonderful and the service is fantastic. Dunwoody is lucky to have this place in their community and I really hope they keep doing well. This is way way way better than something like Taqueria del Sol.

I’m really glad I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. They’re most likely from people who think black pepper is spicy. Anyway, this is one of the best Mexican restaurants I’ve tried and it was recommended by my favorite chef Ford Fry. The restaurant has a diner and old fashioned vibe which I’m a huge fan of. Food came out very quickly and the portions were very very generous! I really look forward to coming back. It’s the type of restaurant that always keeps you craving their food. 10/10 Update: I had to come back and have the burrito. Best I ever had.

I popped into Wahaka for a taco on my way home one night. They have a bunch of taco options, but mostly geared towards meat eaters and only 1 vegetarian taco on the menu. Before even ordering they brought out this cute variety tray of sauces for me to enjoy with my food. I ordered the lamb bacon taco which was delicious.
