Mikata

Had the best time at Mikata at the recommendation of a friend. The restaurant was busy when we arrived but the bartender, Andy, made it so we weren’t missing anything by sitting at the bar. The food was fresh and delicious, everything the perfect temperature and came out at the perfect time. But the drinks were the best part! Their signature French 75 was so much better than I even expected and the Japanese Slipper was a great refreshing second drink. My friend had the Lychee martini which was sweet but very well balanced. The rest of the staff was so warm and helpful as well, including Bella. Overall a great experience and I will definitely be returning. Thank you!

I picked up an online order. I was in the area and decided to tried them out. I was able to pick up the order in about fifteen minutes which was reasonable. The customer service was excellent and I like the atmosphere of the place. Will definitely go back to dine in. I ordered tuna and salmon rolls. I also ordered hibachi steak and chicken. All were wonderful. Total was about 70 - so that might be a bit pricey for some and I definitely understand.

Unfortunately I can’t get Makata a good review. We came on a Friday night, at 6pm it wasn’t exceptionally busy, but it seemed like several tables were reserved for larger parties so we elected to sit at the bar. This is the moment we should have left, but I wanted to give the restaurant a shot since the reviews are generally positive. As I was watching the sushi being made I could tell the quality and craftsmenship was poor. The sushi is certainly in the “affordable” territory but the rolls were falling apart and most sushi options are a cooked or fried variety. We ordered several rolls and Habachi because we wanted to try to get a feel for what the restaurant had to offer. My boyfriend and I dined here tonight for the first time and I’m absolutely hooked! Honestly mad we hadn’t tried it well before now being that we live within walking distance. Food and drinks were spectacular!! Our server Bella was super nice and attentive. When asked questions about the menu she was very knowledgeable and suggested great options. We had the rock shrimp tempura as an appetizer, lecheetini as drinks, which by the way are phenomenal. I had shrimp and steak hibachi and my boyfriend had shrimp and scallops. Overall an amazing dining experience. I’m already planning to go back next week. 5 stars all around!!

A quaint yet vibrant sushi restaurant and bar. Per my non-Vegan relatives, the fish is extremely fresh. The creative rolls and fancy presentations - edible orchids - are a decorative finish. We ordered the following: *Japanese mushroom chips *Vegetable tempura *Super dragon roll *Margarita roll *Edamame *2 Passionfruit lemondrop mocktails As a collective, we enjoyed our selections. The staff is friendly and attentive without being overbearing. The atmosphere is modern and cozy. Prices equates to the good quality of food and service. Complimentary parking up to two hours in the adjacent parking garage. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving good sushi.
