Waffle House

We are loyal customers to this waffle house, we have a certain booth we sit at every single time we visit. We have been visiting this waffle house every valentines day for 8 years. We absolutely love the cook Stanley, he is very nice and never disappoints. We were very sad to hear that they are not able to do themed holidays anymore, we take a picture every Valentines day right before leaving. I hope they change this rule.

Walked in at 6:11 a.m. The sky was starting to soften, but inside, time had stopped somewhere between midnight and the end of the world. The floor was sticky, the air was thick with smoke and fryer grease, and the jukebox whispered sweet silence. My kind waitress took my order, then turned toward the cook who had just walked in from his smoke break outside. She shouted out a series of phrases that sounded less like English and more like the Navajo wind talkers had gotten jobs in short-order cooking. Scattered, smothered, capped, Red 40, whatever she said, it worked. The cook didn’t flinch, just muttered, “Why do you do this to me,” and then moved like a man who’d traded punches and pancakes in equal measure. Have to go to waffle house on every trip! This one did not disappoint!!

We visit this Waffle House on the weekend a few times a month, and they never disappoint. They greet us as we enter (my toddler has a few employees that she enjoys waving to) and provide great service. Food is always fast, warm, and filling.

We have never had a "bad" experience at a Waffle House. Waffle Houses are a quick eat diner. Nothing fancy. Patience as always is sometimes needed, as it is needed almost everywhere now. This location has never taken too long for service, drinks, food. It all will depend on when you show up. Sunday after church, obviously you're going to have to wait and be patient while other diner before you enjoy their meals. Food is made where you can see it. Hearing the employees call out the orders is part of the experience. You have to give it up to the cooks for being able to not only cook the meals, but also listen and start the next order once there is space on the griddles. Smothered. Covered.
