My favorite place in Greenville. Getting a library card was the best thing I could do for my mental health. The staff is great and there are so many resources to use. I love this place! Thank you librarians and staff for making it so wonderful.

This Library has a nice variety of books and a lot of community activities to enjoy. That being said I have had a few frustrating experiences when it comes to checking out/registering. At first they insisted that I did not live in Hunt County even though I do and wanted me to pay $40 vs $20 for the year. I argued that I in fact DO live in Hunt County and they demanded proof even when I directed then to my address on google etc they kept insisting I lived in Rains. This took at least 10 minutes to resolve when they finally relented and agreed that I have a Hunt County address. I’ve always loved this library since I was a child! However, please be cautious if you are alone or have children as the homeless do have a tendency to hang around there a lot and aren’t afraid to get in children’s or people’s faces. I was doing schoolwork one afternoon minding my business when a homeless man who looked to be under the influence kept trying to harass me. Thankfully my kids weren’t with me at the time.

This is the best library I've ever lived near. When the pandemic hit, they hit the ground running, providing so much online content and resources, then when we could all be together again, they just never stopped! Our librarians are amazing, so kind and helpful, and they LOVE their jobs! They always have a million programs going, tons of new things for the kids, they're great about acquiring any books you suggest they add to the collection, and it's just amazing! Occasionally I don't feel super comfortable visiting on my own with three small children because it's a refuge for the homeless when the weather is extreme--of course I don't begrudge them a safe, clean space! But we just try to meet with friends mostly or come during a program when there will be lots of other people there. I only
