Visited Viñas Wine & Tapas in New Haven on a Friday(edit: Wednesday night) night around 8pm. The restaurant was only about half full, and it was hard to really understand the vibe of the place. The décor and menu feel a bit all over the place, and the large screens playing food videos throughout the restaurant were somewhat distracting. Unfortunately, the service was where the experience really fell apart. We overheard more than one table asking multiple times about the status of their food. We ordered two appetizers and two entrées, and it took over 45 minutes for the entrées to start coming out. Only one arrived at first, and the appetizers never came at all. The food was ok, my husband and I are foodies and enjoy authenticity in everything. My husband had the ceviche and pork belly while I had the…. Well fish, ( can’t remember the name), potatos and avocado. My husband said the ceviche was ok and so were the pork bellies. He likes the pork bellies At Jacks better. The drinks however were amazing. I had a strawberry mojito and my husband had a margarita… well 3! Lmao THE STAR OF THE NIGHT WAS CHRISTIAN OUR WAITER! He was amazing and attentive even with the large crowd he had to serve. Thank you Christian for amazing customer service. I don’t think this place has happy hour…. Super friendly place. Love the Chilean-inspired Latin cuisine. Killer Chilean wine list, which is a fav of ours. They deserve your patronage - go!

This was a great pre-show meal before wandering over to College Street Music Hall. The team and staff at Vinas Wine & Tapas were great. We arrived a bit late for our reservation, but were promptly seated at a cozy two-person hightop near the front of the restaurant. We mentioned that we were seeing a show that evening and the staff promptly kicked things into high-gear. Ordered the Papas Bravas, Empanadas Chilenitas, Churrasco Philly, and the Birria Tacos. The Papas Bravas were adequately crispy, but slightly underseasoned. They were cut a bit larger than what we were used to, which may have explained why they were a little underseasoned. Viñas is truly a gem of New Haven. Had a wedding party of 15 people and Mario and his team made our night truly special. Food was incredible, wine selection was spectacular. They really know what they’re doing here. Thank you so much to the entire team for giving my friends and family such a wonderful night🤍 Can’t wait to come back for our anniversary next year!
