Delicious pizza! I stopped by for 1 pizza slice and got a pepperoni pizza. I liked how the red sauce was a little bit sweet and the pepperoni curved in. Cute little place in downtown Sierra Madre. Would definitely come back!
Fantastic independent pizzeria; I've been ordering from them for nearly 20 years now, and they've never disappointed. I enjoy all different versions of their pizzas: Traditional, California-style, New York style, and their new Detroit Style (super-thick crust, but requires advance order). You can also order by-the-slice on available pizzas at their store, and there is some seating both indoors and outdoors if you want to eat there. Also walking distance to R.T. Rogers microbrewery, where you can enjoy great beer and great pizza together!
Last 20 yrs years great place, the ownership changed let's say no longer Italian. These folks nickel and dime you, Torpedo sandwich that's always great, wasn't. It was very dry I asked for some marinara sauce and was told that will be an additional charge. The large pizza is not large a reduced 14" and a hefty $31 bucks. Most pizza joints in the area go for $24.00 bucks 16" size. The previous owner you had use of the restroom, these guy's send you walking down the street to "Starbucks". The pizza is good they could use some better customer recognition. Go to Shakey's save some cash, get a 16" full size pizza and you won't have to walk out into the 50-degree weather to use the restroom.
I’ve lived here for 5 years. I used to live in New York City. Nothing beats NY Pizza in the Big Apple. The only place that comes close is Village Pizzeria. They make everything with intent, it’s a true local business, they have impeccable customer service, and their attention to quality is second to none in a 20 mile radius. I won’t get pizza anywhere else.
Walking distance from the Buccaneer, VP makes a great pizza. I order the medium “works”, fresh ingredients. They also have the optional NY and Detroit style. Walked back to Buccaneer to watch the rest of the game! Second visit was the Torpedo hot sandwich. Worth it. Although they were busy and understaffed on a Friday night, they still got my phone order on time and with a smile. It’s understaffed everywhere! Detroit slice also worth it but sell out fast. By game time, only the pepperoni and NYC slice are avail. Still great pizza with great ingredients. You can always tell how fresh the pepperoni is by the curl after cooking. VP has great curl.
