VERN Restaurant and Bar

I am so excited this restaurant is expanding and renovating. My family and I went for a NYE dinner and the service was phenomenal. Although we missed the NYE celebration, the staff still treated us well and made sure we had a great night. Everyone had a phenomenal meal which means a lot because my dad himself is a chef so he is very picky when eating at other restaurants. Finally, the decor was very cozy and clean which we all appreciated. The waitress told us they would be closed because they plan to expand their outdoor seating so I'm very excited to see how Vern comes back in the summer!

My dining companion and I decided to go for lunch instead. Vern doesn’t take reservations for groups under five people, so we hoped for the best when we showed up around lunchtime on a Saturday. As we entered, there was only one other party and they were sitting at the bar, so we were able to sit wherever we wanted in the dining room. Our waitress, Wafa, who appears to also be the bartender greeted us and took our drink orders. We were informed that they don’t have a drink menu available because they’re in the process of switching to their seasonal drink menu, but Wafa recommended the sangria and old fashioned, so we ordered one of each. The sangria was good and the old fashioned was delivered with an aromatic wooden lid that secured a smoky layer atop the drink. The drinks was quite good

The food, was delicious and the service was great. The buffalo wings were delicious, my steak was cooked perfectly, and my husbands entre was equally . Everything was tasty. I will definitely be going back.

I had my wedding reception here in January of 2026. The Vern team was absolutely FANTASTIC to work with! Joann went above and beyond throughout the entire process, from recommending excellent vendors (flowers, DJ, photography) to making great suggestions for how to best set up the venue (which we listened to and were so grateful we did). My family and I after every interaction with Joann were left saying "well she's awesome." Plus they close during the winter, so we got the entire venue to ourselves by default which was an unexpected bonus. We’ve gone to this restaurant many times under previous owners and had to try the new place out and there was no disappointment here. The service was good, the food was delicious, and aside from one drink that had a problem that was immediately corrected, the drinks were perfect. If you’re in the area looking for good food and drink right on the water, then this is a place I recommend you give a try.
