Vecchia Pizzeria & Mercato

We went to a pizza making class for Valentine’s Day and it was fantastic! Not only did we get a chance to make great pizza, we also got a very informative history on the ingredients and why they are so important in the process. The class was fun, the owner/teacher was easy to follow along with and the class was sold out so we had a chance to meet new people. I highly recommend taking a class at Vecchia or just going for some pizza and gelato!

The service was excellent and the atmosphere was inviting and welcoming. I got a half chees half pepperoni pizza and it was amazing. The sauce was a bit sweet but still savory and the toppings were excellent. You can watch the staff making your pizza and putting it into the wood fired oven. There's plenty of indoor seating as well as on the patio. Overall a great experiemce and definitely worth the trip.

Been coming here for YEARS and have always had the best experience! The atmosphere is warm & welcoming and is my all time favorite place to come when the weather is nice as the porch is by far the best seat in the house. Whether you are coming for lunch, dinner, or anything in between, I can guarantee that Vecchia will have something for everyone to enjoy. My favorite pizza will always be the chicken pesto, with the carni as a close second. Being Italian myself, I tend to be a fairly harsh critic when it comes to authentic Italian dishes. However, Vecchia is the only place I have found in Birmingham that even comes close to nailing the flavors, texture, and quality I have experienced it Italy. 10/10 always!

We love pizza and in Birmingham, it can be hard to find authentic Italian pizza. We came for a pizza class and had a fabulous experience. It was clean, well organized and so much fun. We enjoyed getting to learn a new skill and can’t wait to come back.

Amazing experience at Vecchia Pizzeria! The pizzas were incredibly good—crispy, flavorful, and made with fresh ingredients. We also tried a couple of salads and they were super fresh and tasty. The whole menu has a lot of variety, which makes it great for groups or families since there's something for everyone. The atmosphere is perfect for families—there’s even a bounce house for the kids to enjoy while you relax. On Fridays, they have live music, which makes the whole experience even better. Overall, everything was just really good. Definitely recommend it and we’ll be coming back soon!
