Vavala's has been serving the Darien community for over 40 years, and there is two major reasons for their success; service snd quality of food. Located across from the Noroton Heights train station, Vavala's offers daily hot meal specials and an insanely diverse selection of sandwiches and salads. You can get your everyday deli staples, but the specialty sandwich menu is where this place stands out from the local competition. Good food, super fresh bread and a menu where everything on it is good. This is the Noroton, chicken breast, mozzarella, broccoli rabe and vinegerette. Tons of variety in the menu can’t wait to try it all. Glad to have found such good food so close to home.

Excellent roast beef and tuna sandwiches. Although it was lunchtime, the deli was not too busy, therefore I was surprised by the impatience of the man who took my order. The overall atmosphere was "Know what you want, , order it, get in, get out..." a typical deli.

Consistently friendly staff, excellent food, this primarily a take out deli so not a lot of seating but a few seats for someone that needs a place to eat!
