Van's Brick Oven Pizza

12-07-2025-I ordered spaghetti with meatballs and garlic bread. The garlic bread was the size for a three year-old. It was so small. I was so disappointed. I don’t expect the whole loaf but I did expect a good size especially for nine dollars. We also ordered a medium size Don from the menu which was $20 for a medium size pizza pretty pricey, considering that the flavor wasn’t all that so very disappointed but not a lot of options in Mathis Texas. I would drive to CalAllen before going back to Van’s.. 😩💯💯💯

Not sure what happened to this great little pizza place. Greeted by a very smoky restaurant. Minimal pepperoni on pizza. Only pickle chips available with sandwich. Servers did not come to table to ask if refills needed. Failed to turn in to go order when pizza brought out. Had to ask twice for a box. Slow when we arrived but was busy when we left. Very noisy.

What a gem in the small town of Mathis! The street taco pizza is great, and so was the buffalo chicken. My kid loved the pepperoni as well. The Greek Salad was also to die for! The service was supurb and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Your hours are a bit aggressive, but other than that, it's perfect!

Very delicious pizza and nicely crisp wings. Wings took a little while and came out after pizza. Wish we had them as an appetizer but they do take a bit longer to cook. Still well worth it. Service was great. Sadie was pleasant and attentive. Only complaint is the ranch. It sucked. Didn’t taste homemade and was creamy not buttermilk ranchy. I’ll just bring mine next time. Maybe next weekend, again. Yes. It’s that damn good! 😋

It was extremely disappointing, especially after seeing all the sublime reviews. I was really expecting a pizza worthy of such high Google Review praise. My expectations hit a brick wall and then fell down a well. First of all, the margherita pizza doesn't even look or taste like a margherita pizza. I'm not even sure if they know what it's supposed to look like. It's like someone accidentally dropped the basil leaves into a meat grinder. And if you want to be more visually accurate, it looks more like someone was mowing a lawn next to the pizza. But looks aren't everything, what does it taste like? Rubbery cheese with barely any sauce, barely any flavor. It's like gnawing on a brick of string cheese. The pizza itself is a bit too oily, and the crust, bless my heart, the CRUST was disg
