Urgies Cheesesteaks

WHERE IS THE SEASONING?! 😭 I door dashed a cheesesteak, asked for extra, extra lettuce (barely 3 strings of lettuce in it 🙄)… on top of that, this tasted just like they just dipped a piece of bread in grease and wrapped it up. literally no flavor at all! one of the worst philly’s i have had. and that’s bad when the place is literally named “cheesesteaks”… I kept biting it hoping it would get better, but i never found the flavor in it. it was so bland!! bread was trash too. you can tell they don’t know the secret to a good cheesteak starts with some good fresh rolls. these are definitely frozen rolls off of the sysco truck…. anyway, can’t vouch for the atmosphere or anything else. but DO NOT waste $20 on a cheesesteak and do not get the perogies, they are some soft slimy things. no browning

Urgies has been a great neighborhood bar for years. It’s jam packed when JMU students are in town but can still be fun. It’s best when school is out for townies. They serve tasty bar food and strong drinks. The service varies sometimes but in general they have great bartenders doing their best to take care of everyone.

Cheesesteak gas, only wish that jawn was bigger. Can’t complain about the bathroom situation drunk kids gross sometimes ya heard. The sandwiches feel like I’m back at xfinity live watching red October against strider and the braves. All this place needs is a wawa right next store, place so nice they named it twice. I mean lines longer than the actual building tho, I know they be getting enough to expand this place easily. Sometimes getting out your comfort zone can you help you and I think urgies should be the first bar to evolve so all the other bars can start to get bigger too. School got like 20k+ students. I’ll start the petition to get it started.

Urgie’s Cheesesteak absolutely nailed it with their tailgate delivery! From start to finish, everything was top-notch — the food arrived hot, fresh, and perfectly prepared. The cheesesteaks were packed with flavor and quality ingredients, easily some of the best I’ve ever had. The entire team was incredibly friendly and professional, going above and beyond to make sure everything ran smoothly. You can really tell the owner and staff take pride in what they do — their attention to detail and customer service made the whole experience seamless and enjoyable. Urgie’s is the real deal — great people, amazing food, and outstanding service all around!

I’ve been a loyal customer here since it was just a small food truck about four years ago, but after last night, I’m honestly disappointed. I bought a round of shots for my friends and myself, and before we could even drink them, the bouncer poured them out right in front of me, claiming I was “too drunk.” I was completely sober and even asked him how he determined that—but he ignored me. If management reviews the footage, they’ll see that I was calm the entire time. It’s almost 7 AM as I write this, still upset that my hard-earned money was thrown away right in front of my face after I’d worked a long shift. I truly believe I was treated unfairly, and I can’t ignore the fact that I was the only Black person in my group. That makes this experience even more painful and concerning. I’ll
