University House

Beautiful property, positively lovely host! The property is gorgeous, with a historic home, charming and elegant furnishings, very clean, and very nice, comfortable beds. But what put it over the top was how hospitable the host, Leigh, is. We got in late and she came over at that late hour just to show us how everything worked and give us pointers as it is an older home. We were there to tour various wineries in the area and she even offered to come get us if we found ourselves having had too much wine. We had a fabulous time. Definitely recommend!

We just spent Memorial day weekend in the house. What a gem---delightful old Victorian, tastefully decorated (LOVED the family pics on the walls) and all the amenities PLUS within walking distance to restaurants and downtown. Leigh is a delightful hostess and went out of the way to make us comfortable despite our haphazard program. Great tips on places to visit and where to eat with information and maps to help. She even volunteered to take as wine tasting as we did not want to imbibe and drive. What a delightful trip that was---like having a personal insider guide to the area! We will definitely be going back. Better than the Peerless Inn in Ashland! 2 thumbs up!!

I love the University House. This is a great place to stay for a trip to wine country. The house is located near downtown Newberg, so it's easy to walk to everything you need in the area. The owners are wonderful - they have great tips on where to go and what to see while in town. The house is comfy and clean and a great spot to have some fun.
