Uncle Louie G Keyport

Uncle Louie G in Keyport is one of my absolute favorite spots to cool off during the summer. I’ve been there several times, and every visit is better than the last. They offer a wide variety of flavors — some of my personal favorites include blueberry cobbler, pumpkin pie, apple pie, strawberry cheesecake, peanut butter, and fudge swirl. Whether you’re in the mood for creamy ice cream or refreshing Italian ices, everything is phenomenal. What really makes this place special, though, is the location. I was at Woodstock on West Front St enjoying the vendors and multiple dog rescues on the street showcasing their pups for adoption. I saw Uncle Louie G and the line outside told me I needed an Italian ice while I walked the street. Wow! The Italian ice was incredibly creamy but firm, the prices made me feel I was paying another decades price and my cup was over packed! Ray and Jay are great people very friendly and knowledgeable of the area. Menu choices are plentiful with vegan options. Right across the street, there are ample tables where you can sit and take if views from the bay.

They have dairy free vegan ice cream, if needed, which was good. Unfortunately no gluten free options. But they were very patient and helpful in helping me choose a dietary friendly and yummy dessert to enjoy. Even bringing out the nutrition and allergen binder to assist in knowing my options! Great place and we ate at the waterfront park.

This is my families favorite ice cream shop in the area. Ray and Jay are great people and they always treat our children great. They are quick to make what we order and very personable. We love coming here and then walking the water front to enjoy the delicious ices and ice cream. Right across the street, there are ample tables where you can sit and take if views from the bay. This is our go to spot in the summer time.

Living in the South, we were absolutely spoiled by Blue Bell ice cream, so you can imagine our dismay when we discovered they don’t deliver up here. We nearly threw in the towel on ice cream altogether after trying countless brands and places. But then, like a sweet miracle, we stumbled upon this gem! For the past two years, my husband has been hooked on their mint chocolate chip—he’d buy the whole container if our freezer could handle it! Not only is their ice cream heavenly, but the owners are an absolute delight. They can get busy, but trust me, it’s worth every delicious moment spent waiting!
