Twisters Cafe

We stopped in for a quick bite on our way back home on a trip. There was nothing quick about this stop though. You seat yourself. A couple came in at the same time as us, they had menus and drinks before we were acknowledged. So finally we get to order. I had biscuits and gravy with a side of sausage. My husband had 2 eggs, hash browns, ham and a biscuit with gravy. We waited at least 30 minutes for our food. We both enjoyed the food other than the biscuits. I'm not sure if the biscuits are fried or how they make them but they're full of some greasy flavor and ours were burt. The bottoms were hard as a rock. We’ve eaten here several times over the years. The food it always great. This time I ordered grilled onion burger… this was the grilled onion on my burger. Two tiny rings of onion. Hopefully it was just a one time thing. We’ve had the catfish special before which was great, my husband had the fried liver and it was delicious as well. The waitress kept forgetting about us but maybe she was having an off day. We will go back again.

So glad we tried Twisters Cafe. Good food and service with reasonable prices. I tried the Indian Taco. It was very good! It’s fried bread topped with chili, beans, lettuce tomato and onion. Hubs got pot pie lunch special. A lot of food.

This is easily in the top ten best steaks I’ve have had at a restaurant. It was the night special for $28 you got salad bar cake and one of the biggest and juiciest ribeyes I have ever had. My husband enjoyed his chicken fried steak it was really good. He was jealous of my steak though.

Well, I was passing through town and heard about this café. Let me tell you you need to try it if you haven’t. Apparently, this place is a local legend and for good reason. Seems like it’s hard for a restaurant to get service quality and atmosphere Good all at the same time. These guys aced it!
