True Texas BBQ

This was our first time ever visiting True Texas BBQ and H-E-B overall, and I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better introduction. From the moment we arrived, Ms. Erica set the tone for our entire experience. She is a phenomenal representation of what an outstanding manager, employee, and overall person should be. Her hospitality, kindness, and respect toward my family and me were unmatched, and she made us feel truly welcomed and valued throughout our dinner. We drove all the way from NRH, and because of Ms. Erica, I can confidently say it was 100% worth it. Honestly, I would come back just to see her. She embodies excellent customer service and leadership, and her presence alone elevates the entire restaurant. Because of her, we will absolutely be returning to True Texas BBQ — and H

First time going to True Texas BBQ. The employees were super nice. I line started to form at the kiosk and an employee stepped up to take our order at the register so it was super quick. We didnt have to wait long and the food was fresh! The only thing I would say is the Mac and cheese lacked flavor but it wasnt the worst. They have plenty of seating downstairs and upstairs. Overall would come back!

recently tried the BBQ at H-E-B and was pleasantly surprised! The brisket was tender with a nice smoky flavor, and the sausage had just the right amount of spice. The sides were solid too — the potato salad was creamy and well-seasoned, and the beans had great flavor. The service was quick and friendly, and everything was fresh and hot. The only reason I’m giving four stars instead of five is that the meat could’ve been a little juicier, and I wish there were a few more sauce options. Overall, it’s a great, convenient spot to grab quality BBQ without the long wait. I’ll definitely be back!

We got the 1 meat plate lean brisket and 2 meat plate fatty brisket and sausage. The sides were pretty tasty however for the one meat plate we only got 2 slices of beef and half of it was fatty. The cream corn was smokey and delicious. Mac and cheese we added some BBQ sauce to it to give it some kick. Baked potato could have been hotter as it was just warm. It took the butter a long time to melt in it. The staff were friendly and helpful when one of their sauce dispensers wasn't working.

I am so shocked! First time ever trying True Texas BBQ at HEB and we will be back!! We tried the turkey breast, pulled pork, brisket for meats and it was all very good! For the sides we tried the apple slaw, potato salad, collard greens and creamed corn. All very good! We got the food really fast. All the staff were so friendly and professional, especially Erica! She made sure we had everything we needed and was so nice!! Ask about the coupons! There was a free cinnamon churro pudding if you spend a certain amount but you need the coupon (it’s at the register counter)
