Tropics Jerk Center

As we arrived, I noticed they had their own small parking lot. We found a spot quickly and headed inside. The interior had a tropical design, and everything looked super clean. We walked up to the counter and saw a sign highlighting online or phone orders, but I asked and confirmed that you can also order in person. I scanned the QR code for the full menu and noticed they also had it posted behind the counter. We weren’t ready to order yet, so we let the person behind us go first. After his quick interaction, the staff member behind the counter stepped away for about 10 minutes, which we later realized was to handle his take out order. When she returned, we placed our order. Whew. This place is a HUGE "no!" Firstly, look at the amount of food for $10.50 (I only bit the bread in this photo). This is robbery! Chicken really isn't that expensive, especially not in bulk. Not to mention, it was also cold and flavorless-no spice or seasoning. Also, this bread pudding for $4?? I mean this is crazy.

I spent $48 at Tropics Jerk Center and honestly I was really disappointed. My fish was very bland with little to no flavor, like it wasn’t seasoned at all. I also ordered the jerk pork and only received about five very small pieces, and most of them were mostly fat. The curry goat and the other items we ordered just didn’t taste good overall. I used to love coming here because the food used to be really good, but lately the quality seems to have gone downhill. For the amount of money I spent, I expected much better. The jerk pork tasted okay, but the fish and curry goat were definitely not worth $48. I really hope they can get back to how the food used to be, because right now the dishes were lacking flavor and didn’t live up to what I remember.

Listen! I had their food at the Conyers Fall Festival and got their Fried Snapper and it was cool to order at their food truck and it was phenomenal. Today I finally was in their area and decided to try the full menu and lawd have mercy everything EVERYTHING was fresh and cooked to order, it seems. From the jerk pork, fried chicken, oxtails, and Rasta pasta everything tasted GREAT! The price was right and the quantity was easily more than enough. Their house hot sauce is good as well and different. To the chef and the establishment thank you and please don’t change a thing about what you’re doing. This is a must visit.

I ordered two oxtail plates white rice. My son is allergic to beans I also told the cashier this before I ordered, it is small pieces of beans in the white rice not too many but it’s there. I also ordered two size of mac & cheese and two juices. The juice was the best thing, everything else was not worth my money. Or my time.
