5/5 Stars – Authentic Dominican Delight on State Street! I recently stopped by Tropical Orchid Cafe at 1326 State Street in Schenectady and wow—what a gem! I ordered the Mangu y Los 3 Golpes (the classic Dominican breakfast with mashed plantains, fried cheese, salami, and eggs), and it was absolutely amazing. The mangu was perfectly creamy and flavorful, topped with those tangy pickled onions that tie it all together. Every bite felt like a taste of home (or a really good vacation). The service was super friendly and welcoming right from the start. And don’t even get me started on the homemade coconut cookies (coconetes)—they’re fresh-baked, chewy, coconutty perfection. The ladies in there were lovely I got a booster juice and a tres leches cake. They gave me a sample of the Soup they had and it was amazing tasted just like how my abuela makes it. Haven’t even ate the cake yet but I can tell I’m gonna love it. Definitely gonna come back

one of the best Dominican restaurants I've been too. I was in a mood for Mangu and omg they provide the perfect portion and taste just how my mom does it. to my surprise they have bakery sweets too which are great as well!! this will definitely be my go-to for breaky from now on. EVEN the staff are nice and offer a friendly atmosphere. 10/10
