Customer Reviews
I went here for dinner to celebrate a friend's birthday. They have a dedicated parking area but is very tiny. I was able to squeeze in and find a spot but if you have anything larger than a Prius, it will be difficult to get in and out. There is street parking around the restaurant though. Love the vibes and positive atmosphere but it can get really loud here. The food was just okay. I would say it had the same tastes and style of a chain restaurant like BJ's or Outback Steakhouse but with a higher price point. The calamari was chewy and didn't have much flavor. I had the bolognese and it was way too salty. I did enjoy the charcuterie board though. Staff was friendly and attentive. They were always checking in on us.
Historic restaurant in Emeryville. Great venue for families searching for good food and a great atmosphere. This restaurant has a lot of history so it's more than just a great meal but also like a museum visit for kids. The food was very fast and quite delicious. The pork chop, wings and Brussels sprouts were especially nice and the service was very friendly. Highly recommend!
It must have been our mistake to come in right at 2pm expecting the full menu to be ready, but we waited over 40 minutes for one entree only to be told that it would take another 10 minutes, so we opted to leave instead. Wish there would have been any more honesty on behalf of the restaurant. There was also no attempt to remedy the situation, aside taking the food we never got off our bill, because of course I’m not paying for food I was never served. The owner was also on the patio being very obnoxious and interrupting the servers while they were helping customers. The little bit of food we had was good, but overall really disappointing experience.
Had the mussels and Brussels sprouts, both were served quickly and fresh from the kitchen. Very flavorful and prepared nicely. The old fashioned was mixed in good proportions. Great service and atmosphere although it was a bit loud and I wished I could hear the live jazz band better over all the talking. Would love to try the braised ribs or ravioli next time.
Loved the corned beef hash for St Patrick's Day dinner -- so tender. I would not get the wings again -- $17 for 6 pieces is too pricey. The drinks were great -- Manhattan and a zoni spritz. Will return. Will have to hear the story behind the storied building that was once a speakeasy.
